Macquarie Telecom tasks Noble with federal government and security division

Australian managed hosting telecommunications company, Macquarie Telecom, has appointed Glen Noble as federal government and security group executive, to oversee its expanding managed security services and federal government business.

According to the telco, the appointment complements its focus on meeting rapid growth in public-sector demand for secure data and hosting services, including its recent lead Agency Gateway win with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry, as well as its $14 million investment in existing Canberra facilities.

Noble, who will report to Macquarie Telecom hosting managing director, Aidan Tudehope, will see him take charge of the company's government-facing portfolio, including development of new security and hosting infrastructure and managed security services in Sydney and Canberra.

"Noble's deep experience in hosting and infrastructure design makes him an ideal choice to lead this highly valuable component of Macquarie Telecom's growth strategy," Tudehope said.

Noble, who has 30 years' experience in the telco industry, joined Macquarie Telecom in 1998, and has taken on executive leadership roles in the company's voice, data, and international data divisions.

"In my time with Macquarie Telecom, I've been fortunate enough to work with some of the most proficient technical and leadership talent in the country, and I plan to take this experience further in how we offer government-ready data security at a world-class level," Noble said.

Before Macquarie Telecom, he worked with a number of industry leaders, including six years at AT&T Asia-Pacific.
