Increase in use of phising and keylogging malware

Online crime and credit-card fraud are now serious criminal threats in the UK, according to the UK Threat Assessment of Serious Organised Crime report.

The report, compiled by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), identified an increase in the use of phishing and keylogging malware, and said fraudsters are even tricking call-centre workers to gain access to bank accounts.

Furthermore, Soca warned that the internet has become a hotbed for sourcing illegal products, including controlled drugs, illegal firearms and false documents.
