Artists, designers, and photographers seeking a compact, pro-level interactive pen display will soon have a new one to consider--the Wacom Cintiq 13HD. As with previous Cintiq models, you can draw directly on its built-in LCD screen with a digitizer pen.
This new model, an upgrade of the Cintiq 12WX, joins Wacom's current Cintiq 22HD, Cintiq 24HD, and Cintiq 24HD touch lineup of high-end pen displays. The Cintiq 13HD has a slim design and is compatible with both Macs and PCs.
This new unit features a 13-inch, wide-format HD LED display, an adjustable stand, and an enhanced Pro Pen. The tablet stand is optimized for four settings: flat, 22 degrees, 35 degrees, and 50 degrees for positioning on your desk or in your lap. The screen displays 16.7 million colors, has a 178-degree viewing angle, and 1920 by 1080 resolution.
The newest Cintiq offers 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity--twice that of the 12WX--and tilt recognition. The package includes an updated cordless, battery-free Pro Pen. Frequently used shortcuts are available via the Cintiq's four customizable and application-specific ExpressKeys and a Rocker Ring.
The new Cintiq 13HD will be available in early April for $1000 from Wacom's online store and other retailers.
