Blackmagic Design releases free colour correction tool

Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve Lite, a free cut-down version of DaVinci Resolve that includes powerful colour correction features.

Created to help promote the art of colour correction, says BlackMagic, DaVinci Resolve Lite is based on DaVinci Resolve 8, and will run on the latest model iMac, 17inch MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computers.

DaVinci Resolve Lite includes the same processing engine as the full DaVinci Resolve, however limits projects to SD and HD resolutions, only two colour correction nodes, a single processing GPU and a single RED Rocket card. Stereoscopic 3D features, noise reduction, power mastering, remote grading and sharing projects with an external database server are features only offered in the full DaVinci Resolve.

DaVinci Resolve Lite includes high quality optical resizing, curve grading, XML import and export, 32-bit float processing, YRGB image processing, multi layer timelines, stabilization, window tracking, primary and secondary color correction, real time processing, capture and playback with deck control, compatibility with third party control panels and more.

Da Vinci Resolve Lite can be downloaded here.
