Google Vidnik simplifies YouTube uploads

Mac users given new video editing tool

Google has launched a new tool that enables Mac users to record and edit video captured using an iSight camera and upload the finished article to YouTube.

Google Vidnik's editing features allow users to trim video length, add tags and title a clip. The software can also be used to upload other videos to YouTube. Video captured using the application can also be edited in other video editing packages.

Vidnik is also compatible with external Firewire video cameras, and many USB video cameras when used with a Mac.

The company also recently introduced a companion product for Mac users, Visigami, which allows users to search for images on Flickr, Picasa and Google Images, using the result as an animated screensaver.
