News: Adobe Creative Cloud, subscription editions, go on sale
After building in an extra four days of anticipation, Adobe Systems has now made available its Creative Cloud software suite. Creative Cloud, a set of pro-level applications that target individual artists, graphic designers, videographers, and others in the creative arts, was originally slated to be released alongside Creative Suite 6, which made its debut on Monday morning. At the last minute, Adobe decided to hold the release of all of its subscription services and upgrades for several days to make sure they were all working properly and to ensure the smoothest user experience.

News: Windows 8 Dumps Default DVD Playback
Physical discs took another step towards extinction late Thursday after Microsoft announced that DVD playback will not be available by default on Windows 8. The new move adds another wrinkle to Microsoft's previous disclosure that Windows Media Center, the company's PC-based entertainment hub software, would not be included in default configurations of Windows 8. Windows Media Player will continue to be offered in all versions of Windows 8, but without DVD playback capability.

Don't cut your cable cord quite yet. Hulu may soon require you prove you're a paying cable subscriber before you can uses its video streaming service. According to a report in the New York Post the move is said to be at Hulu owners' News Corp., Comcast and Disney's asking. The logic behind it is simple: TV companies are worried about hemorrhaging revenue as audiences shift to viewing content for free online, a process sometimes referred to as "cord-cutting."
