Synnex has been appointed by Lexmark to be the printer vendor's local distributor.

Lexmark Asia Pacific vice president and general manger, Leonel Jose Da Costa, said the move was to increase the "competitive advantage" of Lexmark's channel.

"Our goal is to continuously improve our customers' experience in every aspect, so expanding our sales and support network, and being in close proximity to our customers, is key to achieving that goal," he said.

Da Costa adds that Synnex's national presence will aid in expanding the reach of the vendor's channel network, potentially leading to improved levels of support and new avenues for business.

"This partnership provides us with those opportunities," he said.

Working together

As for what made Synnex an attractive choice for Lexmark, Synnex Australia product director, Jay Ko, said the distributor has been investing in the printer category over the last few years.

"Partnering with Lexmark will further strengthen our position as the destination for all the leading printing solutions," he said.

Ko said that the distributor will be working together with Lexmark to "nurture and develop" the locL customer base.

"This new partnership will also give our reseller network a great opportunity to grow their businesses based on Lexmark's proven technology and vertical industry experience," he said.
