March UK launch for £30 a month LG Optimus 2x

Expected launch date slips for Optimus 2x

Customers keen to get their hands on the LG Optimus 2X smartphone will have wait a little longer, as retail websites that had previously promised availability from February 21 are now promising the handset from March 18.

Revealed late last year, and seen by PC Advisor at the CES 2011 tradeshow, the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core LG Optimus 2x is powered with Android 2.2 Froyo, with an upgrade to Android 2.3 already in the pipeline. It has a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen and 8GB of internal memory. The Optimus 2x has microSD connectivity as well as full HD 1080p video recording and playback.

The LG Optimus 2x is available for pre-order on a SIM-free price of £500 from websites such as Expansys.

Vodafone is offering the LG Optimus 2x free on contract starting start from £30.65 a month, including unlimited texts, 300 minutes and 500MB of data.
