Canon wins PC Advisor's Best Home Printer award

PC Advisor Awards 2010: winners announced

The Canon Pixma IP4700 has won the PC Advisor Awards 2010 - Best Home Printer award, after being named as the best model in its category to have come through the PC Advisor Test Centre over the past 12 months.

Canon already made good-quality, attractively designed home printers, but the firm took things to the next level with the Pixma home photo printer range it launched in late 2009. This model is the cream of the crop.

The IP4700 is a marvel of user-friendliness, offering full previews of how your prints will look and the option to perform automatic tweaks that boost contrast, sharpness and colour. As well as producing consistently sharp text and vibrantly colourful photo prints, this printer is admirably quiet and compact.

The runners-up in the home printer category were as follows: Epson Stylus SX415, HP OfficeJet 6500, Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690MF, Samsung ML-1915.
