Lenovo L2440x LED monitor uses 60% less energy

ThinkVision screen launching later this week

Lenovo plans to introduce its first white LED monitor this week, claiming the technology ensures the display uses 60 percent less energy than traditional LCD screens.

The 24in ThinkVision L2440x is a 24in monitor that supports 1920 x 1200 resolution and features a USB 2.0 hub (1up 4 down), as well as a DisplayPort input.

As well as reducing power consumption, the L2440x has other strong green credentials - Lenovo says it's Mercury, Arsenic and PVC free, and uses 65 percent recycled packaging materials.

The L2440x is expected to be unveiled later this week.
