Video: Intel pitches its "Clover Trail" Atom processor at launch event

Intel called a news conference on Thursday in San Francisco, aimed at appealing to a young audience with generation Y blogger and author Lauren Berger.

It was all part of a big wind up for Erik Reid, who took the stage to promote Intel’s latest chip, Clover Trail—and all the ways in which enterprise users could benefit from using the ultrabook, convertible devices that are built with the Clover Trail chip, running Windows 8.

Then, one by one, seven different manufacturers took the stage, new convertible devices in hand. Dell showcased its ‘rugged’ tablet, with a removable battery…

Dell while most other manufacturers brought out standard rechargeable devices. Reid says Intel’s chip is designed to prolong battery life.

Many of these devices were unveiled either at Computex in Taiwan or at IFA in Germany. But manufacturers were here to throw their support to Intel at what  some analysts say, is a critical time.
