The Victorian Coalition Government has opened round two of the $11 million Digital Futures Fund (DFF), inviting the state's small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to submit expressions of interest for collaborative projects that use ICT to address key business challenges.
The DFF is designed to drive productivity through the use of ICT. It is part of the Victorian Government's Victoria's Technology Plan for the Future -- ICT, an $85 million initiative.
"The fund was set up to help find solutions to barriers that are commonly faced by SMEs in business," Technology Minister, Gordon Rich-Phillips, said.
Examples include projects that consider how to improve the quality of a non-ICT business produce; reduce the time, labor or quantity of raw materials required to produce a product; create new ways of working; or improve the speed and quality of service delivery.
Projects must involve a minimum of three partner organisations, two of which must be Victorian SMEs facing a shared business challenge.
Applications are welcome from all industries involving partnerships between private and public sector organisations.
Round two applications close on March 7 at 2:00pm.
The Victorian Government encourages SMEs to refer to the program guidelines and application process before submitting as both have changed since the first round.
Round one of the DFF was held in 2012, with successful projects scheduled to be announced "in early 2013."
