Moulton will help to strengthen our focus on the A/NZ markets, Ciena Asia-Pacific (APAC) vice-president, Anthony McLachlan, said. [He] joined us earlier in the year in a pan-APAC role working on numerous projects, and I am pleased to have [him] on the team and now leading the A/NZ business.

Prior to Ciena, Moulton spent three years at Alcatel-Lucent, most recently as marketing and strategy communications global customers vice-president. He was also employed by Nortel for 17 years before that, where he focused on the Australian market and key initiatives in Asia.

Looking forward, Moulton said, A/NZ is on the verge of leading the world when it comes to broadband speed with the National Broadband Network and Ultra-Fast Broadband networks just around the corner.

Combine this with the uptake in 4G mobile technologies by local operators, the continued investment in submarine cables, and Cienas ongoing development of network architectures and technologies such as OPn and WaveLogic 3, the market will take advantage of this new advanced technological environment which increases network performance, capacity, lowers costs and enhances the customer experience.
