Photographs of an iPhone 5 with two cameras on the back for 3D functionality, and a 4-inch display, have emerged.

SlashGear reports that the photographs come from a website called 175wan, from a tipster that goes by the name of fishtoon, from Shenzhen, Guangdong China.

Rumours about 3D Apple devices have been circulating since last year, after Apple was awarded a US patent for a stereoscopic three-dimensional display system that doesn't require glasses.

The new photographs show a 4-inch display on the front of the iPhone, and two camera lenses side by side on the back. There is an obvious 5 where the 4 used to be. However, the photos do look rather suspicious. A give away bump at the bottom of the back of the device looks like a badly placed sticker. Plus, the photos are said to have been taken "by accident", which seems an unlikely story by the looks of the carefully positioned iPhone.

Reports suggest that iPhone 5 will be shipping in September, but Apple remains secretive as ever about its long awaited next-generation smartphone.
