The Samsung Galaxy Note, which is designed to fill the gap between smartphones and tablet PCs, will hit the UK on November 17.

The device, which was unveiled at the start of September, benefits from a 5.3in HD Super AMOLED screen that comes with a stylus dubbed the S Pen.

Powered by a 1.4GHz dual processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note runs Google Android 2.3, also known as Gingerbread, and also comes with a 8Mp camera with LED flash, 2Mp front camera, and Bluetooth and HSPA+ connectivity.

"We're delighted with the overwhelming reception the Galaxy Note has received since it was announced earlier this month and are looking forward to offering Samsung customers a whole new smartphone experience," said Simon Stanford, managing director of Samsung Mobile.

"The Galaxy Note is a great example of Samsung's passion for innovation by bringing to market a brand new category of mobile products. It is our fastest handset to date and brings together all the benefits of our award-winning smartphone technology and services."

Samsung said the handset would be available through networks and high-street retailers. However, it did not reveal pricing details.
