O2 Refresh tariff

O2 has announced its Refresh tariff which splits the cost of a smartphone with the bundles calls, texts and data allowing customers to upgrade whenever they like.

With new smartphones coming to market left, right and centre O2 Refresh is designed to let users upgrade more easily. Customers choosing the Refresh tariff separately pick a Phone Plan and an Airtime Plan to go with it. See also: Group test: What's the best smartphone?

Feilim Mackle, Sales and Service Director at O2 said: "For the first time in the UK, O2 Refresh will make it possible to get a new phone part way through a pay monthly contract, at any time – quickly, easily and cost-effectively."

O2 Refresh will be available stores nationwide from 16 April with available handsets including the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, Blackberry Z10Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5. Other smartphones will be added in the coming months, according to the network.

O2 Refresh Airtime Plans

Three different Airtime Plans will be available to choose from on O2 Refresh starting from £12 per month. Phone Plans vary in monthly cost and may require an upfront fee for the device itself.

The bonus is that users can pay off the remainder of the Phone Plan if they wish to upgrade. The same Airtime Plan can be kept or ended without a charge. O2 Recycle means old smartphones can be traded in to help with the cost of upgrading for up to £260. See also: 4G LTE rollout schedule in the UK.
