HTC is reportedly making a new budget friendly smartphone codenamed the Golf. See also HTC One X review.
The Golf is HTC’s upcoming budget smartphone which is likely to replace the Explorer. The news follows a high-end focused offering from the firm at Mobile World Congress (MWC) last month.
According to Pocketnow, the Golf will ship with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich like the HTC One X and One V phones. No images of the actual device have surfaced but an unimpressive test image from the Golf’s 3MP rear camera has been leaked.
The specifications point to an entry level price with a processor slower than the 1GHz mark, a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will also have a microSD card slot and the "typical sensors and radios", according to Pocketnow.
The Golf, which will have a different name when it is launched, will tip up late in the second quarter.
