The simplistic looking handset, shown above in black, has a power button and volume rocker like every other. The touch sensitive buttons below the screen are a little different to the norm, though.
Another image shows that the HTC First will come in colours other than black; red, white and blue.
It's fitting that Facebook has teamed up with HTC after the ChaCha and Salsa, two smartphone with a dedicated Facebook button. These launched in the middle of 2011.
As well as some bits and pieces of the software interface, called Facebook Home, the specs of the HTC First have also been leaked.
HTC First Facebook phone specs
The Facebook phone will use a 4.3in screen, slightly larger than the iPhone 5's, with a 720p resolution. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Storage is set at 16GB with no microSD card slot for expansion.
A modified version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is the operating system and the handset has a 5Mp rear facing camera and 1.6Mp front facing camera. Remaining specs include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and support for 4G LTE networks.
The Facebook event where the firm is expected to announce the HTC First is scheduled for tomorrow, 4 April. If the leaks are correct it's really only the price and release date left to announce but we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
