Roxio Crunch targets Apple TV, iPod & iPhone

£30 video converter for Windows & Mac

Roxio released Roxio Crunch, a software application for converting video into formats for playback on different devices.

The software is designed to happily (and speedily) convert video assets into a format suitable for the Apple TV and iPod. The software goes on sale next week and will cost £29.99 inc VAT. A dual-platform Mac and Microsoft Windows version goes on sale later this spring.

Roxio Crunch also ships with a pre-defined export function to migrate content into the soon-to-ship iPhone. Crunch offers wide support for many video standards, including DivX, MPEG-2 and DVD-Video. It supports native QuickTime file formats including DV, AVI, and MOV.

Additional features include batch export and an automated feature which adds converted content to iTunes for later synching with Apple's media playback devices.

"Apple TV, iPod and iPhone are part of a new wave of devices that provide consumers with a broader range of options for how and where they enjoy their personal entertainment" said Vito Salvaggio, vice president, Mac Business Unit, Sonic Solutions. "We are pleased to offer consumers an easy way for enjoying all their video content on these exciting new Apple devices."
