Microsoft tries (and fails) to make fun of the new iPhones

Microsoft's new attack ad lacks imagination and innovation. Sound familiar?

With the iPhone announcement still fresh in everyone's minds, Microsoft is trying desperately to draw attention back to its oh-so-fabulous line of mobile products. If a $200 credit for your iPad doesn't entice you to switch to the Windows ecosystem, maybe this awkward and unfunny ad will.

That's right: Why buy a new iPhone 5c or 5s when you can buy...well Microsoft really didn't give us an alternative there did it? Microsoft's become famous for its attack ads in recent years and while some of them are genuinely entertaining, others--like this one--reek of a company fearful of Apple's shiny new toys. If numbers are anything to go off of, they very well should be.

To make things worse, this is just one of a series of seven such ads, available on the Windows Phone YouTube page. Enjoy.
