App Invasion: Fanatic will help you find your new favorite sports bar

No matter where you are, find a watering hole full of screaming fans of your beloved college and pro teams.

Are you ready for some football? I hope so, because the college season is in full swing, and it's week 1 of the NFL season too. And there's just something about watching football in a crowded bar.

Any sport tends to be enhanced by the drinking of beer and the scarfing of hot wings, but the violence and every-game-is-crucial intensity of football makes it a natural fit for packing yourself into a dark watering hole with dozens of like-minded fans and screaming at a bank of flat-screen TVs until you lose your voice.

Fanatic, a new free app for iOS and Android, wants to help you find that bar, that magical place where everyone loves the same team as you--or just make plans to watch the big game at home with your friends.

You create an account, designate your favorite teams, and the app suggests nearby bars that cheer on those teams. It doesn't matter if you went to the University of Wisconsin (go, Badgers!) or Youngstown State (yay, Penguins?). The app has a full roster of college and pro football, college and pro basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer teams to choose from. It'll keep you posted on your teams' games, help you find out where to watch them, and even loop in your friends so everyone's on the same page. (Face paint optional.)

Now get out there and cheer. You gotta support your team.
