LG has teased the launch of a smartphone, likely to be the Optimus G2, with a video.

The firm has posted a video showing plans for a lunch event on 7 August in New York City. With a tag line 'Great 2 have you' hinting at the unveiling of the rumoured LG Optimus G2 smartphone. See also: LG Optimus G2 smartphone photos and spec leaked.

Furthermore the video shows the phrase 'To me, you are perfect. From G' repeatedly. Check out the video below.

Despite the video lasting more than a minute and a half, there's no hints as to what the device will look like, it's specs or what features it might offer.

However, previously leaked information suggests the handset will use a 5.5in Full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. It will also supposedly come with Android 4.2.2 and a rear facing 13Mp camera.

Based on leaked images the smartphone will look similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 and might challenge the Huawei Ascend P6 for the 'world's thinnest smartphone' crown. Interestingly the volume buttons are situated on the back of the phone.

Another snippet of information is that it might just be called the LG G2, therefore dropping the Optimus branding.

We're interested to find out more about LG's new smartphone so we'll be bringing you coverage at the time of the launch event.
