HTC is no longer a tier-one customer
HTC has spoken about the delays to its new flagship HTC One smartphone.
Although HTC's website says 'the wait is over', but the firm has comments further on the delays to its One smartphone. HTC has confirmed the issue is down to parts for the Ultrapixel camera and the aluminium casing, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"We...are working tirelessly with all of our channel partners to ensure that we can fulfill as many orders as possible," said HTC Chief Marketing Officer Benjamin Ho who openly slammed the Samsung Galaxy S4 after its launch event.
The HTC One was supposed to be released on 15 March but punters won't be able to get their hands on the Android Jelly Bean smartphone until the end of next week.
In an earlier statement HTC said: "We will start fulfilling pre-orders by end March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets as we approach April."
Another unnamed HTC executive said the firm has had problems managing its component suppliers since HTC "changed its order forecasts drastically and frequently following last year's unexpected slump in shipments."
"HTC has had difficulty in securing adequate camera components as it is no longer a tier-one customer [to suppliers]." they added.
Despite rave reviews, the stock shortages and fierce competition from rival devices including the Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple's iPhone 5 means things are looking shaking for HTC and its One.
HTC's CEO, Pete Chou, has revealed he will step down from his post if the HTC One isn't a success.
