The Galaxy S4 is being launched in less than a week but we've got Galaxy Note 3 news for you. In what isn't much of a surprise, the smartphone and tablet hybrid will feature a 5.9in screen, according to Know Your Mobile. The website cites The Korea Times which claims Samsung itself gave the news and said the Galaxy Note 3 will arrive in the 'latter half of the year'. See also: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to use metal design due to HTC One.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 3's 5.9in display will use the firm's favoured Super AMOLED technology. The phablet will also use the Exynos 5 Octa 8-core processor which Samsung announced at CES and is believed to be used in the Galaxy S4.

Although flexible displays have been demonstrated, Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 apparently won't debut the technology. The news comes after Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 at this year's MWC.

The Galaxy Note 3 will follow on from the Galaxy Note 2 which has a 5.5in screen. Previous rumours suggested the Galaxy Note 3 would use a 6.3in screen so it's got a bit smaller.

In comparison with rival phablets, the 5.9in size is around the same size as the ZTE Grand Memo, Huawei Ascend Mate which have 5.7in and 6.1in displays respectively.

There's no details on the resolution of the Galaxy Note 3's screen but it's possible it will use a Full HD 1080 x 1920 res like the Sony Xperia Z and HTC One.

Other rumoured specifications include 16GB or 32GB of storage and a micrSD card slot for 64GB cards.

We don't know when the Galaxy Note 3 will launch but you can join us for full coverage of the Galaxy S4 launch next Thursday, 14 March.
