Study: 41% of Hongkongers search jobs via smartphones

Fourty-one percent of people in Hong Kong search new jobs via their smartphones, the highest among six Asian markets selected for a survey, said jobsDB Tuesday.

The finding is from the jobsDB Site User Experience Survey conducted online last September, according to jobsDB that collected responses from 1,945 people from six Asian markets.

In the other five markets, said jobsDB, the percentage of people looking for jobs via smartphones is below 30% - Singapore (26%), Malaysia (26%), The Philippines (17%), Indonesia (26%), and Thailand (28%).

Hongkongers always eye new opportunities

Quoting findings of the Asia Consumer Market Survey 2012 by Researchthink Australia, jobsDB noted that 81% of people in Hong Kong are always looking for new jobs and 64% search job opportunities at least once a week.

There are also 44% of people who may apply for a job if they come across a right one, even when initially they didn't have intentions to look for changes.
