Cisco caters mobility and collaboration kit to growing SMB market

Cisco has rolled out products and services to the SMB market in the area of security, mobility, collaboration and Cloud services.

Cisco Worldwide Partner Led vice-president, Andrew Sage, said the rollout of the kit addresses key trends driving productivity including BYOD, the move to mobility and the Cloud.

The rollout includes an all-in-one security solution, new collaboration products including a voice gateway with an integrated DECT base station to route VoIP calls to the PSTN, a wireless VPN router, and a line of cloud-based network management services.

Sage said the company has been able to bring the Smart Solutions functionality down to the smaller player -- and engage with customers by providing them with purpose built solutions that solve key business problems.

Andrew Leigh of Allcom Networks agreed, saying the rollout is significant in that Cisco has never had this type of enterprise-class functionality available to the small player. "Cisco is bringing enterprise features down to the SMB environment at a price point that is still affordable -- and that is seen by customers as a big differentiator."

Sage said security is top of mind for the small business player, who also needs collaborative tools in order to boost productivity. The latest tools address the growing need to work flexibly and securely from home or via a remote office, he added.
