EE launches 4G LTE SIM-only deals

Offers consumers an easier and cheaper way to get 4G

EE 4G SIM-only data deals

EE, formally Everything Everywhere, has launched SIM-only deals on its 4G LTE network.

After receiving heavy criticism for its monthly phone tariffs, EE has quietly launched 4G SIM-only plans. Currently only available online, the SIM-only 4G deals start at £21 per month for 500MB of data. See: What is 4G? A complete guide to 4G.

Early adopters of the iPhone 5 or other 4G compatible smartphones can now get their hands on a 4G data plan without the steep monthly prices. It also gives consumers the alternative of picking up a 4G smartphone second hand, for example, then paying for the SIM-only.

All of EE's SIM-only plans come with unlimited calls and text messages so it's just the data allowance which varies. Those needing more than 500MB can opt for 1GB, 3GB or 5GB priced at £26, £31 and £36 per month respectively. There's currently no 8GB tariff available. A key element to EE's SIM-only deals is that they are 12 month contracts, rather than 18 or 24 months. All the plans come with EE Film allowing users to watch a film every month for free without it eating into the data allowance.
