LG Google Nexus 4 confirmed by Carphone Warehouse

LG Nexus 4 will go on sale the day after Google announces it on 30 October

Google's yet to be announced LG Nexus 4 smartphone has been revealed online by Carphone Warehouse.

The UK retailer has put the Google Nexus 4, made by LG, up for pre-order on its website. Although Google hasn’t even announced the smartphone yet, Carphone Warehouse states it will go on sale on 30 October.

Carphone Warhouse’s listing for the Nexus 4 says: "The Nexus 4 is the new smartphone from Google. With cutting edge hardware, your favourite Google Apps, and the latest version of Android – the Nexus 4 puts the best of Google in the palm of your hand."

In-line with previous leaks, the LG Nexus 4, previously dubbed the LG Optimus G Nexus, will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz quad-core processor and a 4.7in (768 x 1208) touchscreen and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Other specifications include 8GB of storage, an 8+Mp rear camera, 2GB of RAM and a near-field communications (NFC) chip.

Like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, there is no microSD card slot for memory expansion and there is strangely no mention of 4G LTE support on the product page, only 3G.

Carphone Warehouse says the LG Nexus 4 will be available for free on a £31 per month contract. Google is expected to unveil the new Nexus device on 29 October along with the latest version of Android.

It's also possible that Google will announce new 32GB and 3G models of its Nexus 7 and a Nexus 10 in partnership with Samsung.
