LG Optimus G Nexus specification revealed

Next Google Nexus smartphone to boast quad-core chip and 2GB RAM

LG Optimus G Nexus

Specifications of the LG Optimus G Nexus have been revealed online ahead of launch.

The next Google smartphone will supposedly be made in partnership with LG and specifications of the device have been leaked online. The phone will be based on the LG Optimus G and key specifications include a Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Group test: what's the best smartphone?

Other specifications, courtesy of Modaco, include a 1280 x 768 True-HD IPS screen, an 8Mp camera and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. Like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, there will be no microSD slot for expansion.

Further details include wireless charging and a non-removable battery. The next nexus will, of course, introduce a new version of Android but it will be 4.2 Jelly Bean rather than a jump to 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Visit Group test: what's the best Android phone?

The name has been dubbed as LG Optimus G Nexus but Modaco said "the retail name of the device is yet to be decided". Although the handset will be based on the LG Optimus G, it will apparently look different.

Reports suggest it will be revealed at the end of the month or possible in November.
