Samsung Galaxy Note 2 goes up for pre-order

Smartphone and tablet hybrid will be released in mid-October

Samsung's recently announced Galaxy Note II has gone up for pre-order in the UK.

The smartphone come tablet, or 'phablet' is available to pre-order with a release date of mid-October. The Galaxy Note 2 price is currently set at the £545 mark, according to Clove and Unlocked Mobiles.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note II at this month's IFA technology show in Berlin as a successor to the Galaxy Note and rival to the Apple iPhone 5 which is due to be launched this week. See also: Hands on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The whopping price will get you the SIM-free 16GB model in marble white or titanium grey. Samsung will also release the device in 32GB and 64GB models.

The Galaxy Note 2 features a 1.6GHz processor, 5.5in 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is slimmer than its predecessor at 9.4mm.
