iOS 6 spotted by developers in usage logs

The new operating system could launch at WWDC in June

Developers have discovered that users running iOS 6 have been accessing their apps.

That's according to 9to5Mac, which reports that one developer saw the iOS 6 string when analysing app usage logs showing which operating system users are running.

The developer is unsure when the iOS 6 users began to appear, but he believes it was within the past week. The report claims that other developers have been seeing iOS 6 cropping up in data since late April.

It is predicted that Apple could release the new version of its mobile operating system at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

Reports suggest that iOS 6 could bring new features to iCloud, could have a new 3D Maps app that replaces Google Maps, and could bring Siri to iPad at last.

It looks like this year's WWDC could be a busy one, with reports that a new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac will be arriving at the event in San Francisco alongside the aforementioned iCloud update and iOS 6. The new Macs are expected to run Apple's new operating system, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, which is also set to launch at the conference.
