Korean tech giant Samsung has today launched its new flagship smartphone the 4.8in Samsung Galaxy S3. Here's some of the recently announced specs and features of the much talked about phone.

It's been said before numerous time, but this time it actually means something: the Samsung Galaxy S3 really is a smartphone that will rival Apple's iPhone dominance as the number one smartphone.
Here's what's new about the phone.

Screen
A predicted by many, the new Samsung Galaxy S3 has a massive 4.8in HD Super AMOLED Plus (1280x720) display screen. The device itself isn't any bigger that the Galaxy S2, the screen size is just bigger.
Processor
The new Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone will pack, as pre-announced, an Exynos quad-core chip. Before the launch it was touted that the new processor doubles the performance of the previous dual-core model, while using 20 percent less power.
OS
As predicted the S3 will be running Google Android's latest operating system Ice Cream Sandwich - aka Android 4.0. Android fans will let out a huge sigh of relief that the smartphone comes with Ice Cream Sandwich preinstalled as other some other Android devices have has hellish experiences trying to implement the operating system upgrade.
Camera
Samsung has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will come with an impressive 8Mp camera. This is the same as the camera seen in the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone, which was launched in 2011, but has improved features. These features include zero shutter lag, taking a picture with a 0.01sec response time.
Video will also boast full HD (1080p) recording and playback.
Storage
The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes in three different sizes 16GB / 32GB / 64GB. It also has space for external memory with a microSD Slot (SDXC 64GB exFAT Support.
Dimensions
One of the most appealing features of the Samsung Galaxy S2 was its slim lines measuring in at 66 x 125 x 8.5mm while weighing only 116g. Well it looks as if Samsung are going to continue the slim theme with the Galaxy S3 phone, as the dimensions for the new flagship phone are 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, while only weighing 133.
