Samsung Galaxy S3 tech specs
With a rumoured Samsung Galaxy S3 release date – or at least announcement event – scheduled for May 3, 2012, pre-launch excitement for the Android smartphone is eclipsing even that of Apple’s iPhone 5 (which turned out to be the iPhone 4S). Visit Samsung Galaxy S3 launch: as it happened.

Earlier this week UK mobile phone retailer carphone Warehouse accidentally listed the Samsung Galaxy S3 as a coming-soon smartphone. Samsung has been building the hype around the device by way of a Galaxy S3 teaser video. It then confirmed the Galaxy S3 name when it released an Android app for the launch event next week mentioning the name several times. Go to Samsung Galaxy S3 specs and pictures.
Fan site SamMobile claims that it got hold of the specifications and sketch of the Galaxy S3 from “an insider” who apparently got it from the GT-I9300 official Service Manual, which SamMobile claims is “most likely the Galaxy S3”. Visit Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X comparison review.
The specs show the new Galaxy S3 sporting a homebutton and a new type of Super Amoled screen measuring 4.8 inches.

According the S3 manual the new Galaxy’s processor speed is clocked at 1.5GHz. SamMobile says this is “strange because Samsung has just introduced its 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor”. See also: Samsung confirms Exynos quad-core chip for Galaxy S3.
The site believes that a notification-LED on the left-side of the front-speaker could be for the wireless charging of the phone.
The rumoured 12-megapixel camera for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is not mentioned in these specifications.

We'll be reporting live from the event on 3 May at 7pm so check back for coverage as it happens. For now take a look at our Samsung Galaxy S3 release date, specs and rumour round-up.

Laura @ Travelocafe said: I really hope they are going to put a good camera in this mobile Mostmobilecameras are of bad quality They could do this by now much much better as more and more people take in consideration the quality pf the pics they can do with their mobile camera The number of MP is not everything Its not enough to have 12MB if the photos come out wrong And a dedicated button for the camera should be mandatory by now
