Netflix launches for UK Windows Phone

Finally makes its way over the Atlantic

Netflix has announced that its film and TV streaming app is available for Windows Phone users in the UK.

The wait is over for users waiting for the app which has been available on Android, iOS, Xbox Live and more for a while. It has been available on Windows Phone in the US and Canada since November 2010.

The best part of the news is that the app is downloadable for free from the Windows Phone Marketplace. Users will, of course, need a monthly subscription to access the content.

Netflix said: "The new version includes several enhancements to improve your experience when enjoying Netflix on your Windows Phone, but we’re especially excited to expand Windows Phone support to Latin America, UK and Ireland."

It also said that there is support for more regions and members can use Netflix in their local language and select alternate audio and subtitles.

The firm recently updated its iPad app to make the most of the Retina quality display. It announced that HD video streaming would follow later.
