Steve Wozniak queues up for new iPad

He's second in line at the Apple Store in Westfield Mall, Century City, Los Angeles

Even Apple co-founders have to queue up to get their hands on a new iPad, it seems.

At noon local time on Thursday, a certain Steve Wozniak took his place in the queue outside the Apple Store in the Westfield Mall, Century City, Los Angeles. He's actually second in line - his wife is at the front of the queue.

The What's Trending website found Wozniak at the Westfield Mall after he checked in there on Foursquare. And as Wozniak told the reporter who tracked him down, it's far from the first time he's queued for an Apple product.

"It's become a ritual almost because I've done it so many times. It's not something that I have to do. Nobody needs to wait in line. But I'd rather be there genuine like the real people. I want to be one of the people lined up and wait all night. Apple's just that important to so many of us," Woz said.

He also offered some thoughts on Steve Jobs, who he said he tried not to think about when standing in line.

"I have more of a connection to Steve Jobs than the average person. Steve was really responsible for setting up a company, a culture, a method of developing products that continue to create great products. If I ever see them not great, then I'll be screaming. That will be a sad day," he said.
