Downloader of 25 billionth app announced by Apple

Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China, wins the $10,000 App Store gift card

Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China was the person to download the 25 billionth app from the App Store, Apple has announced.

"We'd like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.

"When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users."

The app Chunli Fu downloaded was Where's My Water? Free, a puzzle game starring Swampy the alligator.

Swampy wants to take a shower but other alligators have damaged his plumbing. Your task is to route water to Swampy's shower so he can get clean.

Apple's App Store launched in 2007 and there are now more than 315 million iOS devices worldwide. It is available in 123 countries and there are more than 550,000 different apps available, including 170,000 native iPad apps.
