CES: Fully recharge iPad with Gum Max mobile unit

Just Mobile's charger rated at 10,400mAh

Just Mobile gave us a tour of their numerous new iPad and iPhone accessories this morning at CES 2012, and we were most excited by a pocket charger that's powerful enough to fully recharge an iPad.

The Gum Max, a beefed-up version of the firm's Gum charger, has an output of 2.1A, and a capacity of 10,400mAh: that's good for seven full iPhone charges, or a single iPad from empty to fully charged. It has mini-USB and USB ports, and an eight-LED 'remaining power' indicator.

It's a sturdy little unit, too, which could be a key attribute if it's being carted round on long business trips. It's clad in rather smart aluminium, which is par for the course with Just Mobile - aluminium is a big part of the firm's design aesthetic.

Including shipping costs, the Gum Max comes in at 122 euros.

The Max model wasn't the only addition to Just Mobile's Gum charger range. The Gum Plus also represents an upgrade on the original, and is powerful enough to charge an empty iPad back up to almost half-power in an emergency, although it's really aimed at the iPhone (four full recharges). It comes in three colours: plain aluminium, red, and black/silver.
