Lonely Planet iBook is latest '12 Days' present

The latest freebie from Apple in its 12 Days of Christmas promotion is the Best in Travel 2012 guide from Lonely Planet.

The Best in Travel 2012 book is available for download on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iBooks and on your computer with iTunes.

The book must be read on an iOS device however.

Drawing on the knowledge, passion and miles travelled by Lonely Planet's staff, authors and online community, it presents a year's worth of travel inspiration to take you out of the ordinary and into some unforgettable experience.

Apple has run the 12 Days of Christmas promotion in the UK over the days following Christmas over the past few years.

This year the company promises a range of free presents via the iTunes Store that will include a selection of songs, music videos, applications, books, TV episodes and a films that are free for 24 hours each day.

The promotion kicked off on Boxing Day and will run until midnight on the 6 January in the UK. Check back here everyday to see what you could be downloading for free.

Users can sign up to receive an Apple email alert for each free offer or download a dedicated 12 Days of Christmas iOS application.
