Apple has confirmed it is hosting a press conference on Tuesday October 4, where it is expected to launch the iPhone 5.
The tech giant issued an invite to media for the event, which will take place at its California headquarters. The invite simply states "Let's talk iPhone" hinting that the subject will be the next iteration of its smartphone.

Last week, AllThingsD cited source close to Apple that claimed the tech giant's next big media event would be held on October 4.
Whether Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 or the much-rumoured iPhone4S, which is thought to be a smaller version of the smartphone, remains to be seen. It is also thought Apple will unveil the final version of iOS 5, its mobile platform which has been in Beta since the summer, at the event.
New Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to deliver the keynote speech at the event, which will take place at 10am Pacific Time, which is 6pm BST.
