Huawei own-branded smartphone to hit UK in September

Huawei Blaze will be joined by MediaPad tablet PC

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has revealed its latest own-branded handset could hit the UK as easy as next month (September).

Huawei mostly produices handsets for carriers, although it has previously launched products under its own brand. The Huawei Blaze, which will run Google Android, will be the latest own-branded handset to be made available to Brits.

"We're trying to establish the brand, almost from scratch," Mark Mitchinson, Huawei's UK executive vice president, told Bloomberg, while also revealing the handset will compete with "anyone involved in Android."

Huaewi also revealed it will launch the Vision smartphone in the UK along with its Mediapad tablet PC. It hopes to secure the support of Everything, Everywhere, the parent company created when Orange and T-Mobile merged.
