Apple 'to launch iOS 5 beta 6 on 17 August'

Less than two weeks after iOS 5 beta 5 launched

Apple will launch the sixth beta version of iOS 5 on Wednesday 17 August, it has been claimed.

9to5Mac reckons that it has cracked the OTA update date code and that Wednesday week is the day for version 6 of the iOS 5 beta.

However, the site did warn that the release could be delayed if bugs in the code are found.

iOS 5 beta 5 launched over the weekend. Among the new features spotted so far are a Hearing Aid Mode which improves compatibility between iOS devices and hearing aids and a speech recognition feature believed to be called Apple Assistant.
