Virgin Media unveils TiVo iPhone app

App is hot on heels of Android version

Virgin Media has launched an iPhone app for its TiVo TV-on-demand service that allows smartphone users to set programmes to record from their handset.

The app comes hot on the heels of an Android app that was launched earlier this week and gives users the same ability to see what's on over the next seven days.

The app also allows users to create a list of their favourite channels to see what's on, without trawling through all of the listings. There's even a detailed synopsis for each show offering and the ability to share what you're watching with friends and family by text or email.

TiVo, which was launched last year, combines live TV with catch-up TV, on-demand content and web-based services such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube - all of which can be accessed from one programme guide. The service also features a set-top box with 1TB of storage and three tuners, so viewers can record two channels while watching a third.

The app can be downloaded from Apople's iTunes store for free now.
