Hundreds of Vodafone customers were unable to make calls from their mobile phones this morning, following a break-in at the mobile network's facility in Basingstoke.
The exact number of Brits who lost calling, internet and texting services was unknown. However, micro-blogging service Twitter was flooded with complaints.
"We had a break-in last night at one of our technical facilities, which resulted in damage done to some of our equipment," Vodafone confirmed.
"This means that some customers may be experiencing temporary loss of voice, SMS and internet services. We are working quickly to restore these and will be back to normal as soon as we can."
