LinkedIn BlackBerry app finally available

Business tool for Tour, Curve & Bold users

LinkedIn is finally available as a BlackBerry application - 18 months after it became available for Apple's iPhone.

Not releasing the business networking application for RIM's business-focused handsets until now seems like a massive oversight, but LinkedIn has been working with the phone maker to perfect the integration of the app with the capabilities of the BlackBerry.

Tyler Lessard, RIM's vice president of global alliances and developer relations, said the app had been built to ensure deep integration with BlackBerry's core communications apps

Key features include integration with BlackBerry's existing email, calendar and contacts applications. The LinkedIn for BlackBerry app also includes standard search, messaging and network updates features.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry is free and available now for the BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Bold smartphones.

The application operates on devices running BlackBerry OS 4.3 or later. Full integration of the LinkedIn application with native BlackBerry applications requires BlackBerry OS 4.6 or later.
