Apple iPhone available from Tesco next week

Handset available on £20 & £60 per month tariffs

Tesco Mobile will make Apple's iPhone available to customers from December 14.

Last month, the supermarket announced it would soon start offering Apple's iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS via Tesco Phone Shops and its online store.

Tesco has now unveiled pricing for the handset. Two tariffs are available - the 12-month option offers £60 worth of credit to be used on calls and texts for £20 per month.

However, customers will have to fork out between £222 and £407 for the handset depending on whether they want the 8GB iPhone 3G, or the 16 or 32GB version of the iPhone 3GS.

An unlimited calls and text tariff is also available. It's a 24-month contract, which costs £60 per month and offers users a free iPhone 3G or 16GB iPhone 3GS.

Those who want the 32GB iPhone 3GS will have to pay an extra £50 for the handset.

Alternatively, the network is offering the handset on a PAYG basis. The 8GB iPhone 3G is available on PAYG for £342, while the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 3GS costs £440 and £538 respectively.

All options come with free unlimited web and Wi-Fi, and Tesco is also offering douible clubcard points when you purchase the handset and triple points on your monthly bill or any credit purchased for PAYG handsets.

Tesco is following in the footsteps of both Orange and Vodafone, which recently announced they would be stocking the iPhone, after O2 lost its exclusive deal to offer the handset in the UK.
