Sky gives iPhone users live football

£6 per month to watch games on your handset

Sky is giving Apple's iPhone users the chance to watch Premier League football matches on their handset.

iPhone owners can download the Sky Mobile TV News and Sports app which allows them to watch Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, Sky Sports News, Sky News ESPN and At The Races using the Wi-Fi connection of the phone.

The app is free to download from the iTunes app store but there is a £6 monthly charge to subscribe to the sports and news package. You don't have to subscribe to Sky's TV package to access the app.

"Our new Sky Mobile TV app combines the demand for great live TV on the move with the high quality viewing experience offered by iPhone and iPod touch," said David Gibbs, Sky's mobile general manager.
