Nokia offers free exchange for faulty chargers

Devices in the UK not affected

Nokia is recalling a number of mobile phone chargers after it was revealed the devices are faulty.

It is thought the plastic cover of the chargers, which were made by a third-party for the mobile phone manufacturer, could potentially come lose and separate, exposing the internal components and leaving the user open to electric shock if the components are touched while the charger is plugged in.

Nokia says it will exchange the AC -3U, AC-3E and AC-4U models of charger for free. Nokia phone owners should visit the dedicated website and enter the details and of their device.

The mobile phone manufacturer revealed that the Charger Exchange Program "only applies to a limited number of chargers of certain models and these models have different plugs and pins than are used in UK".
