It's the Year of the Ox in Chinese culture and that usually means good things for people and companies.
For Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC the launch of the iPhone 3G in its home market is meaning tougher competition but it hit back on Monday with a new version of its iPhone rival, the Touch Diamond and a new version of its business smartphone, the Touch Pro.
The Touch Pro 2 has a 3.6in touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixel wide-screen VGA resolution and a Qwerty keyboard.
It can be used as a speaker phone for conference calls: just lay it on a table face down and it immediately switches to speaker phone mode. The speaker and two mics are placed on the back of the phone.
