LogMeIn controls PC from handset

LogMeIn has launched an application that allows iPhone or iPod touch users to use the devices to remotely access their PC or Mac.

LogMeIn is a simple system that allows users to install a program on their PC or Mac and then, provided the computer is switched on, access the files on the machine from anywhere with internet connection.

LogMeIn Ignition for iPhone and iPod Touch is available from Apple's iTunes App store and is priced at $29.99 (£19.50). Once downloaded onto an iPhone or iPod users can then simply connect to the web using Wi-Fi and access their PC or Mac.
