T-Mobile G1 to hit UK this month

Google Android phone on 30 October

T-Mobile has announced the G1, the first smartphone to use Google's Android platform, will hit the UK on 30 October.

The handset, which will be locked to the T-Mobile network, was originally thought to be launching in the UK in November and will be available on a contract basis, with prices starting at £40 per month.

Manufactured by HTC, the G1 features a 3.2in touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 3.2Mp camera.
